The mission of Coronado Baptist Church is to glorify God by joining God's Spirit in loving all peoples, telling them the good news of God's salvation, and developing them into obedient followers of the Lord Jesus Christ equipped to minister in His name.

What We Believe:

  • In essential beliefs - we have unity.

There is one Body and one Spirit...there is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, and one God and Father of us all. Ephesians 4:4-6

  • In non-essential beliefs - we have liberty.

Accept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on disputable matters... Who are you to judge someone else's servant? To his own master he stands or falls... So then each of us will give an account of himself to God... So whatever you believe about these things keep between yourself and God. Romans 14:1, 4, 12, 22

  • In all our beliefs - we show charity.

...If I hold in my mind not only all human knowledge but also the very secrets of God, and if I have the faith that can move mountains - but have no love, I amount to nothing at all. 1 Corinthians 13:2 (PH)

Our Core Values:

Love God (Matthew 22:36-40; John 14:15)

Love Others (Matthew 22:36-40; John 13:34, 35)

Faith (John 5:19, 30; Romans 14:23; Hebrews 11:6)

Biblical Authority (John 10:35; Isaiah 40:8; II Timothy 3:16, 17)

Dependence on the Holy Spirit (Luke 4:1; Ephesians 5:18)

Prayer (Luke 11:1-4; Philippians 4:6)

Obedience to God (John 15:10; John 14:23)

Coronado Baptist Church is not a place for spectators. It is a place for family. Whether you are a two-year old child, a ninety-five year old grandmother, a teenager, a soldier, a busy mom, a college student, or a businessman with big responsibilities, we want you to be a part of our vibrant church community. Here is how you can learn, serve, and grow at Coronado Baptist Church.

Where can I learn?

Small Groups

Often, small groups of people are better able to interact and learn about a topic than those in larger groups. For that reason, Coronado Baptist Church has Bible studies and Sunday School classes designed to help you in your Spiritual Growth.  These are held throughout the week, Saturday evening and Sunday mornings. The size of the groups vary based on the nature of the study and age group. For more information on what classes are offered and times, click here.

Children's Ministries

Each Sunday morning, children get to participate in their own classes and children's church based on their age. Bible lessons are taught in such a way that every child gets to participate and learn. Teachers are carefully screened and thoroughly trained in children's instruction.

Student Ministries

Our Student Ministries encompasses three aspects of student life at CBC.  Roots, our Jr. high Ministry, Axis (Sr. High), and CAM (College-age Ministry) are lead by Student Ministries Director, Drew CookC.A.M  provides a welcoming atmosphere for college and early-career-aged young people.

Singles

Life can get complicated once you cross that nebulous threshold into adulthood. There are complicated decisions. Bigger stakes. Serious relationships. And a whole lot more. Our Singles Ministry is led by Dan Dodge, and is comprised of two groups: Single Focus (ages 23-25) and The Next Generation (ages 35+).  Both of these groups are very active, meeting each weekend for Bible study at the church. For younger singles, we meet at 9:30 upstairs in the gym through the doors to the left- follow the noise. The Next Generation meets at 7:10 pm after the Saturday night service in room #5 in the office building.   Throughout the week there are various planned and spur-of-the-moment get-togethers at the church, at each other's homes, or at various venues around town. Weekly studies for women and bi-weekly studies for men are available. Call the church at 915-329-0212 for more information. Single-specific mission trips are planned once or twice yearly; local mission and evangelistic opportunities are available throughout the year. For more information, click here.

Women's Ministries

Several Bible studies, discipleship groups, a women's retreat, conferences, and events are offered throughout the year to give the ladies in our church family special times of interaction, fellowship, and spiritual growth. There are also many opportunities to serve in various volunteer capacities throughout the year on a one-time or on-going weekly or monthly basis. Contact the front desk at Women's Ministry or (915) 526-7395. For more information, click here.

Men's Ministries

Accountability among men is an act of integrity. CBC's Men's Ministry is designed to protect, encourage, and develop men of all ages, single and married. The men of CBC meet at least three times a year to grow together in the knowledge of God's Word.  These events include Men's Rally, Men's Retreat, Father/Son or Daughter Banquet, etc. For more information, click here or contact Dan Dodge at (915) 329-0212.

Men's / Women's / Student Discipleship

Discipleship groups are on-going throughout the year as groups of three or four are formed among the men  / women of CBC. We model these groups after Jesus' example. Jesus taught His disciples by investing in their lives.  He lived out His life and ministry before them, setting the pattern for His followers to learn how to encourage and equip future generations. CBC's discipleship groups meet together on or off campus as their schedules allow and keep in touch by email or phone.  If interested in taking this step in your journey of faith, please contact any of the following for this opportunity:  Ron Acton or Nora Karam.

Over 60's

Once you get past sixty, the fun has just begun. Whether retired, just plain tired, or active as ever, these groups within our church provide refreshment, ministry, and times of valuable interaction.  Two classes are available for this age on Sunday at 8:00 a.m. in the Osborn Rm. of the Administrative Office Building. Both the Challengers and Faith Classes will be enable you to continue in your faith journey and fellowship with other believers.  Class members also fellowship outside of class for lunch and various activities. If interested in more information, please contact Jeanne Sanderson, (915) 584-4357, or Carolyn Hauser, (915) 584-1626.

Where Can I Serve?

Jesus told us, his disciples, to make disciples of all nations. One of the most important values of Coronado Baptist Church is our mission to the world. It begins in our own community, and spreads overseas to every nation. We are involved in a variety of ministries from things as simple as serving snacks at VBS to going on an overseas mission trip to spread the love of Jesus.

The following is a sampling of how you can get involved in and through Coronado Baptist.  If you are interested in serving in any capacity, please contact the Administrative Offices at (915) 584-3912, to be put in touch with the person currently in charge of that particular ministry area.

Missions & Outreach

Coronado Baptist is excited to be a part of the spread of God’s kingdom around the world. We are active in sending and supporting missionaries with our prayers and with the money God has entrusted to our care. Each year, several individuals and teams from our church travel within the United States and around the world to assist missionaries in the field through evangelistic outreach and practical projects. We encourage all of our people to respond to God’s call for laborers, whether that means living and ministering in our own community, supporting missionaries out in the field, going with a missions team, moving to a foreign country, or any and all of the above.  Find out more by going to the Missions & Outreach page.

Worship Arts

God-honoring worship is something we strive for at Coronado Baptist. Many church members get involved in our worship ministry. Some are vocalists with the worship teams or praise choir; others play their instruments in the orchestra or bands. Still others get involved on the media team or in drama. These volunteers are an important part of the ministry, using their talents and gifts to glorify God.  Find more on the Worship Arts page.

Hosts & Hostesses

Our hosts & hostesses fill a vital role in the life of Coronado Baptist Church. They are involved in greeting our guests, answering questions, handing out bulletins, and when needed, guiding traffic.  This team is a servant-hearted group of men and women whose ministry is integral to our church life.

Media & Technology

Using media to spread the gospel is a privilege of Coronado Baptist Church. In an age of widespread technology, we have the responsibility to be good stewards of the Kingdom tools He has provided for our use. All of our weekly sermons are uploaded to our website (find them under the Media tab) in audio format and shared with our local Christian radio station. We also maintain an active Facebook for additional church communication.

Prayer

Prayer cannot be overestimated. Prayer moves the hand of God. Coronado Baptist Church is a body of believers dependent upon prayer, and committed to God’s sovereignty. Each Sunday, during the morning service, a team of volunteers is praying for the ministry of the Word. Throughout the week, volunteers to our Intercessory Prayer team, pray for their pastors and families, staff members, a list of church members, and any special requests and missionary prayer needs that have come in. Each Tuesday evening, the church comes together for a special time of prayer and Bible study.

Children’s Church

In order to give our children the best Bible teaching possible, Coronado Baptist holds both preschool and elementary children’s church services in conjunction with the 11:00 a.m. Sunday service. This special time gives kids more opportunity for interaction and learning in a context and manner that may be better suited to their age and learning styles. Our friendly children’s church volunteers have an endless stream of creativity – ranging from puppet shows, to crafts, to games, to object lessons, and upbeat music.
