Where Can I Serve?

Jesus told us, his disciples, to make disciples of all nations. One of the most important values of Coronado Baptist Church is our mission to the world. It begins in our own community, and spreads overseas to every nation. We are involved in a variety of ministries from things as simple as serving snacks at VBS to going on an overseas mission trip to spread the love of Jesus.

The following is a sampling of how you can get involved in and through Coronado Baptist.  If you are interested in serving in any capacity, please contact the Administrative Offices at (915) 584-3912, to be put in touch with the person currently in charge of that particular ministry area or click on the link below to send a direct email.

Missions & Outreach

Coronado Baptist is excited to be a part of the spread of God’s kingdom around the world. We are active in sending and supporting missionaries with our prayers and with the money God has entrusted to our care. Each year, several individuals and teams from our church travel within the United States and around the world to assist missionaries in the field through evangelistic outreach and practical projects. We encourage all of our people to respond to God’s call for laborers, whether that means living and ministering in our own community, supporting missionaries out in the field, going with a missions team, moving to a foreign country, or any and all of the above.  Find out more by going to the Missions & Outreach page.

Worship Arts

God-honoring worship is something we strive for at Coronado Baptist. Many church members get involved in our worship ministry. Some are vocalists with the worship teams or praise choir; others play their instruments in the orchestra or bands. Still others get involved on the media team or in drama. These volunteers are an important part of the ministry, using their talents and gifts to glorify God.  Find more on the Worship Arts page.

Hosts & Hostesses

Our hosts & hostesses fill a vital role in the life of Coronado Baptist Church. They are involved in greeting our guests, answering questions, handing out bulletins, and when needed, guiding traffic.  This team is a servant-hearted group of men and women whose ministry is integral to our church life.

Media & Technology

Using media to spread the gospel is a privilege of Coronado Baptist Church. In an age of widespread technology, we have the responsibility to be good stewards of the Kingdom tools He has provided for our use. All of our weekly sermons are uploaded to our website (find them under the Media tab) in audio format and shared with our local Christian radio station.  You may listen to sermons from Coronado Baptist Church currently being broadcasted each Saturday at 5:00 p.m. on KELP at 1590 AM & 95.9 FM in El Paso, and 89.3 FM in Mesquite, (Las Cruces) New Mexico. We also maintain an active Facebook for additional church communication.

Prayer cannot be overestimated. Prayer moves the hand of God. Coronado Baptist Church is a body of believers dependent upon prayer, and committed to God’s sovereignty. Each Sunday, during the morning service, a team of volunteers is praying for the ministry of the Word. Throughout the week, volunteers to our Intercessory Prayer team, pray for their pastors and families, staff members, a list of church members, and any special requests and missionary prayer needs that have come in. Each Wednesday evening, the church comes together for a special time of prayer and Bible study. We also have once-a-month mornings of prayer in which everyone is encouraged to come away from their busyness and spend time in prayer.

Children’s Church

In order to give our children the best Bible teaching possible, Coronado Baptist holds both preschool and elementary children’s church services in conjunction with the 10:55 a.m. Sunday service. This special time gives kids more opportunity for interaction and learning in a context and manner that may be better suited to their age and learning styles. Our friendly children’s church volunteers have an endless stream of creativity – ranging from puppet shows, to crafts, to games, to object lessons, and upbeat music.

Each summer, Coronado Baptist Church hosts Avalanche Winter Camp (weekend in January) and Aspendale Preteen Camp (one week in June) for our 3rd-6th graders. These events involve games, Bible studies, great food, good worship, and the intentional influence of camp counselors. The camp counselors are selected, screened, and trained for this important camp ministry. They find that their ministry is personally rewarding, and both campers and counselors grow in the process.
